Love Changes Everything

This week in Nashville, Tennessee, the first daffodils sent scouts to poke their heads out and get a sense of spring. Little did they know they would meet a surprise snow. As it fell last night, I imagine most people didn't take much notice.

But for those who love wildflowers, a tender space opens as you take notice of the fragile exposed blooms and find yourself googling frost and daffodils.

Love changes everything.

Love changes how we see, give, act, and speak, as those things become endowed with a sacredness from the heart of God. A gift given and received with love becomes an outward and visible sign of the inward spiritual grace that we have experienced.

Love changes how we navigate through political polarization, economic uncertainty, and destabilizing wars. Grounded in love, we know we can be a source for creating good in this world.

Love tethers us to an eternal vine that will never break.

How can we see, act, give and receive in love? This poem is my attempt at an answer. I long to hear yours.
